GO THE EXTRA MILE. You can help raise funds to fight breast cancer by collecting tax-deductible donations from family, friends, neighbors and co-workers.

Why do we fundraise for the Cure?  We do it for our mothers, our sisters, our grandmothers, our daughters and our friends! We fundraise to save lives!

Last year 35% of our Race Participants were fundraisers. Our goal is to increase that number to 50% and even higher! Imagine if every Race participant asked 10 friends for just $10 and collected $100.00 we could raise over $350,000! As one participant said “I decided just to send ONE email to all of my friends and within 24 hours they had collectively donated more than $500!”  Our top 50 fundraisers - the Pink Honor Roll together raised over $54,000 – you can raise money to fight breast cancer too.

Collecting Donations

Online Donations
When you register for the Race online, you can set up your own personal webpage. You can upload your own photo and tell your own story about why you are participating in and raising funds for the Race. You can send emails from your webpage to family, friends, and colleagues asking them to sponsor you by donating with a credit card online. All they have to do is click on the link in your email. What could be easier! Our online tools allow you to support the cause with just a few clicks of the mouse.

Paper (Offline) Donations
While we strongly encourage everyone to use the online donation program, some people will prefer to donate by cash or check. We will gladly accept donations in any form; however, if you are trying to compete for a pledge program prize, we need your help to ensure that we can track the funds you work so hard to raise.

Donations by check or cash will be considered for individual prize eligibility as long as we receive them in a envelope with an official Fundraising Form. Click here to download this form . You may collect your donations and turn them in at one time or, if you collect a large number of gifts early in the Race season, go ahead and turn them in with the appropriate forms. We will add your pledge envelope totals to any online donations to arrive at the total funds you raised.

You can turn in your donation envelope during packet pickup week or at the Pledges and Donations tent on Race day. If you prefer, you can mail your pledge envelope to the address below. Please do not send cash in the mail!

Does your company have a matching gift program?

Check to see if your company has a matching gift program. If they do, make sure you take advantage of it to increase the amount you raise. Let others know about this option and have them check with their companies.

If your company has a matching program, obtain the necessary paperwork from them, complete the form and include it with your pledge envelope. Komen will submit the form and give you credit for the matching gift. Please be sure that your name is on the Match Form so that you can get the appropriate credit.

Thanking your donors and supporters

It is important that you thank each and every individual that supports your fund raising efforts. Individuals that make a donation online will receive an electronic thank you/acknowledgement message. Komen will provide a receipt for cash and will send a thank you letter to any donor who makes a gift of $25 or more.
