Volunteer

Our volunteers come in all sizes, shapes and colors, but their hearts are pink and their caring has no limit. Are you a leader, a thinker or a doer? Use your talents in our promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever!  We need you now more than ever. Volunteers provide countless hours contributing their skills to further the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® promise. We will work with your availability.  Every minute you spend helping gives another minute of hope to those affected by breast cancer.

Program areas include:

  • Development/Special Events
  • Community Programs Advocacy
  • Administrative

  • April 12-13 WMU MODA Style Show, Kalamazoo Expo Center
  • May 19 - Southwest Michigan Race for the Cure Arcadia Festival Site, Kalamazoo

Give your time and expertise to a Komen Committee!

On-going Committees:

Education Committee - work with a committee to plan and initiate breast cancer educational opportunities throughout the area.

Grants Committee - members prepare grant announcements and application requests. Members also review grant applications for compliance and provide oversight to the grants process.

Race Committee - plan and implement one of the largest fundraiser events in Southwest Michigan. Be a part of planning and execution.

Advocacy Committee - keep information flowing regarding current legislative action affecting breast cancer, breast health and education. Work in collaboration with Komen State and National advocacy efforts to impact legislative decisions addressing a continuum of care for breast patients.
