Registration and Packet Pick-Up Information


There are many ways to participate in the Komen Southwest Michigan Race for the Cure.  You can compete in a timed 5K race, you can run (non-competitive)  or walk our 5K or 1 mile Family Walk  or you can chose to register as a Supporter and receive a Race t-shirt.  We are also offering a special registration category: In the Pink.  In the Pink registrants will have their race packet mailed, receive a special gift, and be invited to pre-race lunch at the Promise Café.

5K Run /Walk: Participants will receive the 16th Annual Race package, which includes a t-shirt and race bib. Breast cancer survivors will also receive a pink t-shirt and cap as part of their participant package. Survivors are invited to visit the Survivor Tent on Race day and participate in the Survivor Celebration of Hope Tribute preceding the race. Register here for the 2012 Race!

1 Mile Fun Run/Walk: The 1 mile fun run/walk is a great event for families or individuals that want to participate but the 5K may be a bit too challenging. Participants will receive the 16th Annual Race packet, which includes a t-shirt and race bib. Register here for the 2012 Race!

Supporter:  For people who aren’t able to participate in the race - volunteers, cheerleaders, people who live too far away, but may want to fundraise, registering as a supporter and setting up your online fundraising page is the way to go.  Registered Supporters receive the 16th Annual Race packet which includes a Race for the Cure t-shirt . ONLINE REGISTRATIONS

Online registration is now open for the 2012 Race! You may register yourself, start a team or join a team. Registering online is quick and easy – Register here for the 2012 Race!

Registration online closes Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 10:00 p.m.  After that date participants will need to register at the May 19 packet pick-up 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at Gazelle Sports or on Race Day, May 20, 2012 at the Arcadia Festival Site before 1:30 pm.


PAPER REGISTRATIONS

Although we prefer online registrations, we realize that not everyone can register online. If you register by mail you will receive a confirmation postcard or we will email if you provide your email address on the registration form. Printed registration forms and donation envelopes will be available after March 1st at the following locations:

* Please note that if your team is competing for Team Awards, all mail-in registration forms must be postmarked by May 7, 2012 in order to be counted for the team awards.

Late registration is available at Packet Pick-ups, May 14, May 15, May 16 , May 17, and May 19 and on Race Day May 20.  (See schedule below.)  Please note Timed Runners Packet pickups only at Gazelle Sports on May 19 and before 1:30 pm on Race Day, Sunday, May 20th.

REGISTRATION FEES FOR PAPER MAIL-IN REGISTRATION

If you would like your packet mailed to you , you must register prior to May 7, 2012.  You must provide a street address – we cannot ship to a post office box.  You need to mark the  “mail packet” box on the registration form and include the extra $5.00 payment.

PACKET PICKUP

Now that you’ve registered for the Race, unless you paid to have your packet mailed to you, you will need to pickup your t-shirt, bib and event program.

Packet pickup is held during the week immediately preceding the Race – see schedule below -  and it is your opportunity to pickup everything you will need for the Race. Picking up your packet early will help avoid delays on Race Day. Team Captains are encouraged to pick up their teams’ packets before Race Day. Please contact teams@komenswmichigan.org by May 10, 2012 to request pre-packed team packets.

For those individuals who have not yet registered by the week preceding the Race, you can register, pay and pick up your items at the same time at a Packet Pick-up.  You can also turn in your pledges/donations; Cash, Checks, VISA and, Mastercard will be accepted.

Please note Timed Runners Packet Pickup with timing chip are only available at Gazelle Sports on May 19 and before 1:30 p.m. on Race Day, May 20th. Timed Runner registrations will be cut off at 1:30 p.m. on Race Day.

TURNING IN PLEDGES/DONATIONS

Mail or In-Person 
We encourage you to bring in the pledge/donations you have collected to Packet Pickup or you may drop off donations at our office 9-4 weekdays . Be sure to include the Fundraising Form with the information filled out if you are interested in competing for one of the many pledge program prizes. Click here to view fundraising prizes. your donations must be in an envelope along with a completed Fundraising Form.

Please note: to qualify for team awards donations must be turned in or mailed by May 7, 2012. For individual prize/rewards offline fundraising can take place until one month after the Race - deadline is June 20, 2012
