Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers Make it Happen!

Our Affiliate is built on the strength of our volunteers. It is because of their tireless efforts and commitment that we are able to further our mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever!

We need over 200 volunteers for the Komen Southwest Michigan Race for the Cure®

Click here to view the Job Descriptions for Race Volunteers.

We will be holding a Volunteer Orientation on May 8, 2010 at the Bronson Athletic Club at 9:00am. Click here to download the Volunteer Orientation Flyer. Once you’ve signed up to be a volunteer for Race you will receive more information about the orientation.

After reviewing the volunteer job descriptions, follow these steps to become a volunteer for Race:

1. As a volunteer you will need to register for the Race. We encourage our volunteers to ”go the extra mile “ and fundraise for the cause. You can set up your own online fundraising page to ask family and friends to support your efforts. Download our Friends and Family for the Cure Fundraising Tool Kit and learn how easy it is to raise funds!

Follow these directions if you plan to fundraise online

  • Register as a Supporter first (you will need to pay a Supporter fee – this converts to a donation, although it will not show up on the web site as a donation)
  • As you register, you will establish a user name and password.
  • Write your user name and password down, as you’ll use it again in a minute.
  • Once you have completed registration as a Supporter and have established your user name and password, click on Volunteer Registration in the left menu bar. Enter the information requested including the user name and password you established when you registered as a Supporter.
  • You are now also registered as a Volunteer and can use your online fundraising webpage to help raise funds for the race.
